El Querandí
Tango Dinner & Show in San Telmo
In the heart of Buenos Aires City’s historic quarter, the San Telmo neighborhood, there is a place where it is possible to enjoy the best tango show in Buenos Aires: a unique, unrivalled, carefully decorated space that managed to recover its early 20th Century magical atmosphere with absolute fidelity. In this mythical site, a fantastic combination of traditional gastronomic proposals and the most impressive spectacle of music and dance typical of our beautiful city comes to life.
El Querandí is an old mansion from the late 19th century, which functioned as a Bar and Restaurant from 1920 to 1980, and recovered its essence in 1992 after more than 10 years of abandonment and being on the verge of demolition. Its history runs alongside the history of Tango: they were born together by the end of the 19th century; it was consolidated at the beginning of the 20th century, had its time of splendour between 30 and 55, its decadence in the 80s and its rebirth with a restored essence in the 90s.
Our dinner show combines and presents the typical gastronomy of our country with an exquisitely high-quality show, capable of providing its guests the opportunity to experience the Buenos Aires nightlife within an especially ambient and intimate salon, which will transport you to the Buenos Aires of the beginning of the 20th century.
Our tango show in Capital Federal is undoubtedly an excellent opportunity to savor the most exquisite typical dishes, and also to be delighted in a magnificent tango show performed by professional dancers and singers, as well as musicians of international level.
Located in the historic center of the city and recognized as the heir of ancient Porteño traditions, El Querandí preserves in its soul the emotional essence of Buenos Aires. In fact, it was recognized by the Buenos Aires City Museum with the title “Living Testimony of Citizen Memory”. As it could not be otherwise, our show pays tribute to this old tradition by faithfully and authentically reviewing the most representative moments of tango history, accompanied by the typical quartet led by the maestro Ado Falasca, the wonderful voices of Carlos Gari and Gabriel Mores, and the remarkable cast of passionate dancers directed by Cristian Correa.
